About Family Grounded
Family Grounded exists to help families work through the decisions that shape everyday life: how children are raised, how partners share responsibility and how households relate to wider family.
We are based in Ghana and write with African and diaspora family realities in mind. We also cover common challenges faced by families everywhere. Our aim is to offer clear guidance people can discuss, adapt and use.
Our approach
We begin with a specific family problem, examine the context and suggest practical steps. Where a topic involves child development, digital safety or wellbeing, we draw on credible evidence and identify the limits of general advice. We distinguish lived experience from professional expertise.
Family Grounded is for parents, partners and caregivers who want thoughtful guidance without judgement or promises of a perfect family.
What you will find here
Guides that explain common challenges in plain language; conversation prompts and practical family tools; African and diaspora perspectives alongside broadly relevant advice; and clear signposting when a situation calls for qualified local help.
The person behind Family Grounded
Family Grounded was started by Benjamin Normanyo, a Ghana-based parent and husband who wants to turn years of family experience into useful conversations and practical resources. Personal experience informs the questions we ask; it does not replace research or professional support where those are needed.
